Inviting you to a place where Christmas in Orlando can bring sunny skies, warm temperatures, and palm trees swaying in the breeze, even as the shops, homes, and businesses are colorfully lit in celebration. We invite you to take a look at the holiday with new eyes, rediscovering its magic as you relax and recharge in our festive and joyous holiday hideaways!
Release Your Inner Child
For too many years Christmas has meant lots of chores, lots of expenses, and making sure that everyone else’s needs are met, but in 2023, we say it’s your turn to play and the first step in releasing your inner child is with a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! As you can imagine, Disney doesn’t believe in the less is more theory, preferring to prescribe to the MORE is more way of life and as you and your family skip down Main Street, taking it all in, don’t be surprised when the child inside dances right out of your soul.
The fun starts November 11th and lasts through New Year’s Eve, providing over 1000 decorated Christmas trees, millions of twinkling lights, and Mickey’s Merry Christmas Party that will allow visitors to experience snow flurries without cold, wet, and dreary. Many of the rides will get a seasonal update and this year, their Frozen Holiday Surprise will reawaken the magic of the Disney castle and introduce you to new ways to get to know Elsa and cast.
A Visit to Santa’s Enchanted Workshop, (321) 775-4001
Today’s children are smarter than we were. They recognize the fakeness of the Santa’s Village in the mall, they know that the elves aren’t real, and with a simple tug of the white fluffy hairs hanging from Santa’s chin, they soon discover that the Mall Santa is fake as well, but with a visit to Santa’s Enchanted Workshop, the magic is reignited. There are no fake backdrops and the décor in the workshop is as real as the one in your holiday hideaway, featuring real toys, tools, and Santa with a real beard.
And for one hour, your children will get an experience of a lifetime as Santa creates stories with them, discusses the gifts they want for Christmas, shares milk and cookies, and even get to build an ornament with the jolly old elf, adding it to the Christmas tree in his workshop for the whole world to see. And when your kiddos walk away with homemade crafts created by the elves as a reminder of this magical hour, their dancing eyes and gigantic smiles will help reawaken the magic of Christmas in yourself. The pictures taken here are never posed but are authentically captured shots taken during the beautiful moments they are experiencing.
Last Minute Shopping?
No matter how much we plan, there are always last-minute gifts that need purchased and Orlando is a mecca for Christmas shoppers. Pick up something fabulous from Disney for your terrific toddler, a LEGO something special for your son who dreams of being an architect when he grows up and purchase your beautiful wife that upscale gift she so richly deserves with a visit to the Mall of Millenia where Christian Louboutin, Kate Spade, and Tiffany & Co are waiting to be explored. The shops of Orlando offer the unique opportunity to ensure that you reign supreme as Premier Gift Giver!
Festive Feasts
As with most holidays, the Christmas meal is a tradition that means something to the participants, but for those hardworking parents who can’t stomach the idea of kitchen duty on vacation, a huge variety of restaurants will be open for business on Christmas day, ready to prepare, serve, and clear away the holiday feast. Experience an international Christmas with the Christmas day specials at the Columbia Restaurant, 649 Front Street in nearby Celebration or stick with an All-American feast at TooJays Deli, Restaurant, and Bakery, offering two locations in the Orlando area. And if you choose to spend Christmas Day at the Parks, many of the restaurants, including the Whispering Canyon Café in Disney and the Kitchen at Hard Rock in Universal Orlando are offering Christmas themed dinners or brunches.
