Thanksgiving Dinner
When it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, Orlando and its many restaurants know how to celebrate. Nearly every restaurant (or so it seems) is hosting some sort of special meal on Thanksgiving Day. From breakfast to dinner and everything in between, restaurants across Orlando are celebrating with food and fun. Contact your restaurant of choice and ask about reservations, as well as pick up or delivery to beat the crowds.
If you simply must have a hand in creating the meal, your Tuscana Resort Orlando vacation rental isn’t far from conveniences like grocery stores. You can pick up everything you need to create the perfect at-home dinner.
The Parks
The theme parks that call Orlando home put on a show for every holiday and season. Main Street, USA in the Magic Kingdom goes all-out for Christmas starting in early November, and each of the Disney parks puts their own spin on the celebration, including traditions from around the world, and putting holiday cheer in everywhere. Some Disney park restaurants offer traditional Thanksgiving fare.
Wander LEGOLAND and its Christmas wonderland complete with holiday-themed mini figures, décor, and other holiday flair. Other parks like Universal Studios have yet to complete Thanksgiving and other holiday plans, but announcements will be coming soon.
Chocolate Kingdom Factory Tour
Add something sweet to your Thanksgiving meal! Chocolate Kingdom’s Factory Adventure Tour is an interactive tour that takes visitors from the cocoa bean all the way to the creamy, delicious chocolate treats you can enjoy for Thanksgiving dessert.
Your Personal Chocolate Tour Guide teams up with a “handsome prince” and the prince’s dragon sidekick to take you through a Cacao Tree Greenhouse, their unique Chocolate Museum, through the Mystical River of Chocolate, and finally the Micro Batch Bean-to-the-Bar Factory that uses old-world machinery to create delicious chocolate desserts. The 45-minute tour includes samples along the way. For an additional fee, you can customize your own chocolate bar at the end of the tour!
Crayola Experience
Experience every color of the rainbow this Thanksgiving. Spend some time at the Crayola Experience in the The Florida Mall. The two-story, 70,000-square-foot attraction offers an experience that boasts over 25 hands-on activities that will inspire budding artists of any age. Catch a live manufacturing show and see what goes in to making your favorite colors, make digital art on an interactive wall, create unique keepsakes or your own coloring page as you or your favorite character as the star, and even name and wrap your own Crayola crayon to take home.
Madame Tussauds Orlando
If you’re spending time on International Drive this Thanksgiving, don’t miss making a stop. The museum houses many life-size and life-like wax models. Get up close and “meet” many of our country’s top actors, sports stars, pop icons, political figures, historical figures, and others. Each category or group of stars and celebrities has its own room, and the figures are even organized and placed for great selfies and other photo opportunities with everyone posed in the shot.
If you want to see yourself carved in wax someday, it will take three to four months for the professional team of artists and sculptors to perfect your image using over 200 different body measurements to capture everything that’s unique about you.
Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!
Experience the weird and fascinating artifacts and displays that will definitely have the whole family saying, “I don’t believe it!” this Thanksgiving. Take in the strange collection of oddities, including a shrunken human head, odd fossilized creatures, and other pieces from world traveler Robert Ripley’s seemingly out-of-this-world collection.
Another “unbelievable” exhibit is centered around Mr. Ripley himself: at the height of his career, he averaged 3,000 letters a day for over 20 years! That’s more mail than any other individual in history to that point.
